With Glen Oliver Löw

Mobil treats design as an integrated industrial process - from concept and material research to tooling, manufacturing, assembly, and lifecycle. An innovative batch-dyed thermoplastic technopolymer reasserts plastic as a noble material, while the project is conceived as a system rather than an object.
A lightweight chrome-plated steel frame forms the structural chassis; within it, drawers in translucent, opaque, or high-gloss transparent PMMA slide in as modules. The basic unit alternates drawers with shelves and a top, scaling from two to six elements. Configurations can sit on casters or fixed feet and include practical handles. Lightness, mobility, and durability make the system at home in bedrooms, living spaces, bathrooms, and work settings. functioning as a precise, portable storage architecture that adapts to changing uses over time. Awarded the Compasso d’Oro in 1994.
